Tottenham’s Pedro Porro has been a mainstay under Ange Postecoglou, even more so this season after Emerson Royal’s move to AC Milan.
But Porro himself has been subject to interest from outside of North London, and he has not done much to quash those rumours away.
And, according to one journalist, the Spaniard is quite close to the exit door at Hotspur Way.
Pedro Porro likely to leave Tottenham, says Giuseppe Franza
According to Giuseppe Franza of Inter Live, Tottenham fullback Pedro Porro will leave the club either in January or next summer.
Reports linking Real Madrid with right-backs from all over Europe have emerged ever since Dani Carvajal was sidelined for at least this season after sustaining an ACL injury.
Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, in the last year of his contract, has been the other name featuring prominently alongside Porro’s on Los Blancos‘ wishlist.
The Spaniard has also acknowledged the Real Madrid links, having stated he is “proud” of them.
Valued by Transfermarkt at €45 million, Porro has in place at Tottenham a £85k-per-week contract set to run until June 2028.
Make the most of it
It is already quite apparent that Porro would like the Real Madrid move to happen.
We know Daniel Levy likes a hard-ball game, though how much of a say he gets in transfers going forward can change depending on the club’s takeover situation in the coming months.
Regardless of what happens, it will be in Spurs’ best interests to be open to Porro’s departure and, regardless of what happens on that front, target a right-back in the coming transfer windows.
