Luka Vuskovic is set to officially join Tottenham next year
Tottenham Hotspur signed Croatian talent Luka Vuskovic from Hajduk Split on a five-year contract in September 2023. They will welcome him in 2025 after the defender turns 18.
Luka Vuskovic is currently plying his trade on loan at Belgian side KVC Westerlo. The Croatian youth international joined KVC Westerlo in July and has been fantastic thus far, netting four goals in 10 top-flight appearances. Four goals in 10 appearances is mightily impressive from a defender’s point of view, with Westerlo lying sixth on the table.
Transfer news king Fabrizio Romano revealed on X earlier this month that Tottenham are happy with Vuskovic’s development on loan at the Belgian club. However, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King thinks the 17-year-old will struggle for regular minutes at White Hart Lane and that clubs from all across Europe could already be lining up to sign him.

“He has come from a decent league, the Croatian league isn’t bad,” Bryan King exclusively told Tottenham News.
“It seems as though he is progressing and Spurs are keeping an eye on him. However, he isn’t going to get regular football at Tottenham.
“You never know, there might be an interested party who wants to buy him. Perhaps another team will try and sign him. Would Spurs sell him if he is proving to be the success that people say he is?”
Presently, Ange Postecoglou has three central defenders in Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin at his disposal at Tottenham. Romero and Van de Ven are Spurs’ first-choice central defenders, having forged a strong partnership at the back since the start of last season.
After arriving from Serie A side Genoa in January, Dragusin has played a backup role to the club’s first-choice centre-back pair. Ben Davies, primarily a left-back, has also been used as a centre-back by Postecoglou at times when required.
Keeping the current options in that position in mind, Spurs are desperately lacking a quality young central defender who has the qualities to thrive in the hustle and bustle of Premier League football. Vuskovic has the raw ingredients in his game, and if he continues to develop well on loan at Westerlo, the Lilywhites would get a player in their hands who may be ready to challenge the likes of Romero and Van de Ven for a spot in the first XI in the 2025/26 campaign.

So, even if clubs could be interested in signing Vuskovic next year, it is difficult to imagine that Daniel Levy would already be thinking of cashing him in before he has even joined Big Ange’s forces at N17.
