Spurs eye Ukrainian starlet Giorgi Sudakov in summer transfer window

Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to sign highly rated attacking midfielder Georgiy Sudakov for some time now, as they look to add depth and quality to Ange Postecoglou’s roster.

The Lilywhites don’t have a clear like-for-like backup to James Maddison in the middle of the park, and the England international’s inconsistency, complemented by his injury problems, saw Spurs suffer in his absence last season. The Greek-born tactician does play Dejan Kulusevski down the middle, although Tottenham are now targeting a proper understudy who may go on to compete with the former Leicester City maestro for his position in the eleven.

Tottenham have been long-standing admirers of Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Georgiy Sudakov, and they continued to be linked with a move for the Phil Foden-likened maestro. However, looking at his antics for the Ukrainian outfit, fellow Premier League giants have joined the race to his signatures.

The Lilywhites are now accompanied by Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester City on the table for his services, with the latter being the latest to join the board wagon to sign Sudakov, per INews.

The 22-year-old has been impressing for Shakhtar off late, is currently the division’s top goalscorer, and also possesses a creative outlet like only some in all of Europe. Moreover, the Ukrainian international brings a versatile presence; while primarily an attacking midfielder, he can also feature in multiple roles, including out wide, something that the Australian head coach will love to have in his roster.

For Tottenham, inclusion of Manchester City and Arsenal complicates things; however, the Lilywhites can offer more minutes than the aforementioned duo, and that could help persuade the player for a White Hart Lane transfer.
