Arsenal secured the arrival of Kyran Thompson from West Ham earlier this year, and it came as a blow to the Lilywhites following what was months of persuasion before the Gunners pounced on his signatures.
Daniel Levy has pivoted to a different transfer strategy at N17, where the club looks to sign highly acclaimed young players who can make an impact for the North Londoners in the long term and grow them into their potential in the corridors at Hotspur Way. We have seen the chiefs at N17 invest so much in the young players, and the club has been still linked with many more. However, losing to Kyran Thompson came as a big blow.
Arsenal’s Thompson signing a setback for Spurs
And ex-Spurs scout Bryan King insists that Arsenal are a more attractive prospect than Tottenham, citing the youngsters move to the Emirates Stadium. He thinks it’s a huge deal while acknowledging the fact that the Gunners have more to offer than Spurs.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Wenham said:

“We’re talking about a very young player here. Therefore, I don’t think it is the end of the world for Tottenham. However, something must have happened to convince him to join Arsenal over Spurs.
“I would imagine that money was involved. Perhaps the promise of immediate Under-21 games and chances to train with the first team. At this moment in time, Arsenal are in a far better position to bring in a young player. They have more to offer than Spurs right now, especially with everybody raving about Mikel Arteta. There are more pluses at this moment in time than at Tottenham.”
-> International ‘deal’ could hand Tottenham a match-winning edge against West Ham United
While losing on Thompson wouldn’t come as an immediate blow to Tottenham, he could set an example for future starlets where the Gunners express equal interest as Spurs, and if he were to succeed in the years to come, those citations will only grow stronger.
For Tottenham, there are many young players among the ranks at Hotspur Way, and the focus at the moment should be on developing these talents and nurturing them into their potential as the club continues to reshape their transfer strategy and invest in young players who can lay strong foundations for the years to come.
