Tottenham skipper Son Heung-min has missed the last few games due to a hamstring injury
Tottenham Hotspur have been struggling with injuries of late, especially at the offensive end of the pitch.
In the upsetting 3-2 loss to Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium before the international break, Ange Postecoglou was without the services of Son Heung-min, Wilson Odobert and Richarlison. With a lack of options on the left side of attack—a position all the aforementioned injured players can cover—the Tottenham boss was instead forced to use Timo Werner in the last couple of Premier League games against Manchester United and Brighton.
Spurs certainly missed the services of their skipper Son Heung-min in the agonizing loss to Brighton. The South Korean forward has the entire international break to work on his fitness at Hotspur Way.

Now, ex-scout Bryan King feels the 32-year-old’s potential availability against London rivals West Ham United at the weekend would be ‘encouraging’ for Big Ange and Spurs.
“To get your best players back for a derby is always encouraging,” Bryan King exclusively told Tottenham News.
“He is missed because he gives Tottenham another option in the forward areas.
“His runs are good, I like the way he operates whether he is out wide or playing off of another striker. Getting a so-called star player back is pleasing, so let’s hope Son is back against West Ham.
“However, we still need to see what the extent of that injury was, and whether him not travelling with the South Korea team paid off.”
Son did not team up with the South Korea national team during the recent October international break, a decision which should have boded well with the Spurs fans. Thus, our captain had enough time to rest and recuperate to overcome the injury problem that has seen him miss Tottenham’s last few games across all competitions.
Big Ange delivered a positive update on the 32-year-old’s fitness on Thursday morning, implying that the forward will be available for the London derby against the Hammers on Saturday. The £190,000 per-week star enjoyed a solid start to the 2024/25 season with two goals and as many assists in five Premier League games before suffering a hamstring injury last month.

The Lilywhites are going to require all their players in the coming weeks and months, especially since after next month’s hiatus, there will not be an international break until March. In addition, the FA Cup will also commence right after the gruelling Christmas schedule. So, having Son back fully fit and raring to go again should be great news for Postecoglou and our fans.
