Tottenham Hotspur keen on Ajax Amsterdam starlet Devyne Rensch.

Tottenham fans have begun worrying about their side’s future under Ange Postecoglou.

The mixed results at the start of this season, especially after the way things ended last term, hint that the inevitable end cannot be too far.

Sadly, what Postecoglou has had to say about his game recently will only worry the Spurs management even more.

Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of his side’s Premier League game against West Ham, Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou discussed, among other things, his own take on his football.

“It’s a never-evolving one.

“What I really hope is that people talk about it beyond just outcomes. If they’re talking about your team and the way they play, there’s usually something there that’s a little bit different, maybe a little bit more out there in terms of what’s done conventionally.

“I’ve had an unconventional path to get to where I am, and I think if I had stuck between two broad lines in terms of the way I did things, I probably wouldn’t have got here. Hopefully, they see something and walk away thinking, ‘You know what, I’ve never seen that approach before.'”

The 59-year-old has had to come out and defend his tactics in the international break, insisting time and again that he will not change his style of play for anything or anyone.

Tottenham’s game against West Ham on Saturday will officially kick off Week 8 of the 2024/25 Premier League season.

Not what Spurs would want to hear

In the coming years, when people look back at Postecoglou’s Tottenham, they will definitely reminisce about them fondly, the same way people have been reminiscing about the “Barclaysmen” of late.

But romance cannot always be extricated from reality, and without reality romance cannot thrive on its own. Postecoglou calling his side a “never-evolving” one should be an immediate red flag for any management looking to run a club in a cutthroat competitive environment that is the top level of European football.
