Tottenham Hotspur enjoyed a magnificent win against West Ham earlier today, where the North Londoners gave the supporters at White Hart Lane a day to remember following what was a difficult fortnight on the back of that horrendous loss against Brighton.
The Lilywhites came all prepared, and while they took some time to get their gears right, Ange Postecoglou‘s side went all gas in the second half to come out with a brilliant 4-1 win against the Hammers. While the score line insists it to be a one-sided game, the score was tied in the first half, and at one point the North Londoners were trailing before Kulusevski equalised going into halftime.
And three goals in the space of seven second-half minutes was enough for Spurs to put the game to bed and come out with all three points.
Ange Postecoglou tactics prove successful vs West Ham
Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou, in his post-match interview, insisted that his side could have scored more goals against West Ham. Speaking via BBC Match of the Day, the Australian said:
“We had to fight hard in the first half. Going a goal down wasn’t ideal but we clawed our way back into it, and it is not easy. West Ham are a big physical side and they have got some speed as well. Second half we were outstanding. We upped the tempo and played some quality football, defended when we needed to and got our finishing right.
“I think we had some chances where we could have scored more but if we keep creating the goals will come. We want to be that sort of side that creates lots of chances.”

The Spurs head coach’s claim to insist that his side could have netted more goals shows his all-aggressive playing style, which when it comes off is absolutely devastating for the opponents as we saw earlier today where the Australian’s commitment to an attacking brand of football is evident in the hosts’ performance.
This high-tempo philosophy has also been among criticisms at times, but Sunday’s paper will claim headlines praising Ange-ball for the 4-1 win over West Ham and it was headlining on the far end in the past matchday against Brighton.

The win marks the first time that Postecoglou has led Tottenham to a victory over a traditional London rival in the league, breaking new ground for the boss. Do you think the Lilywhites could have scored more goals against West Ham? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
