Tottenham will want to get back to winning ways right away as they face West Ham in the Premier League this weekend.
Ahead of the game, Ange Postecoglou revealed whether he really gave his players a piece of his mind.
Ange Postecoglou on how he “exploded” at Tottenham players ahead of West Ham game
Ahead of his side’s home Premier League game against West Ham this Saturday, Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou discussed, among other things, whether he “exploded” at his players.
The 59-year-old recently said that he was ready to lambast his players for the manner in which they allowed Brighton come back into the last game and snatch victory from their hands, having not had the chance to do so because of the international break.
“Yeah, I was speaking metaphorically as I haven’t exploded. One of those where as much therapy get things off your chest and giving the right feedback. Emotion after the game dissipated ten days later and players got appropriate feedback for a difficult game for us. As well as we did first half, it was a really poor second half.”
The Brighton defeat brought to a halt a five-game winning streak. Spurs now sit on six wins, three defeats, and a draw after their first ten games of the season across all competitions.
The Lilywhites will play the Hammers in the first game of the eighth round of Premier League matches this weekend.
West Ham there for the taking
West Ham have had a poor start to the season and are yet to click into gear. This is as good an opportunity Spurs will get to get back to winning ways before taking on a rather tricky part of their fixture calendar.
Of course, a victory here will only delay the inevitable decision Spurs are going to have to make regarding Ange Postecoglou’s future at the club.
