Tottenham legend hails Ange Postecoglou 'wonderful' after Manchester City win

Tottenham Hotspur are set to host West Ham at White Hart Lane later today as the Lilywhites come into the fixture looking to get back to winning ways following what was an horrendous performance by Ange Postecoglou’s side against Brighton ahead of the international break.

Spurs had incurred a slow start to their 2024/25 campaign; however, the improvements have been undeniable as they went on a five-game winning streak till the Seagulls happened.

However, when you look at the bigger picture, Ange Postecoglou has made a commendable difference in the culture at Hotspur Way since he took over the reigns at N17. He has taken the club from one of the struggling big six to one of the most exciting teams in Europe within a short period of time.

That being said, you could still hear the pundits criticise the former Celtic coach for his all-out attack style of play.

Meanwhile, West Ham head coach Julen Lopetegui has had his say about how the Lilywhites have progressed in abundance since the Australian took charge of the club, and the Spaniard is a fan. He spoke about how far Spurs have come under the former Celtic coach while relaying that he likes to watch Tottenham play with Ange in charge of the proceedings at White Hart Lane.

“I think Ange changed a lot of things in their team. In my opinion, he made their players and team better, and that’s why I like to see this team. They work together.

“But we have to put the focus on us and have an answer because we have to be on it to get the win. Our fans will demand the best from us, and this is a good thing. They support us always, so we have to be ready to play well, be a strong and solid team, and to beat them there. It’s not easy, but we will try to do it.”

Everyone acknowledges the quality that Tottenham play under Ange; it’s the lack of consistency and stability that hurts Spurs on the toe.
