Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has been subject to links with a move away from White Hart Lane as Italian clubs lineup potential bids to his signatures.
The 28-year-old has been one of the better keepers in the English top tier since he moved to the Lilywhites from Empoli in the previous year, and while he has been on the receiving end of criticisms off late, he has single-handedly changed the initial build-up phase for the North Londoners and complement that with his shot-stopping abilities.
Moreover, his voice in the dressing room has been growing as he has been included in the leadership group at Hotspur Way by Ange Postecoglou recently as he looks at the Italian international to command from the last line.
Guglielmo Vicario is not for sale despite interests
And while Vicario makes himself home at Spurs, the likes of Inter Milan and AC Milan are fortifying interest to land his signatures and take him back to his home country. However, despite links, ex-Lilywhites scout Bryan King doesn’t believe that the Premier League heavyweights will let the 28-year-old leave next summer unless a “ridiculous offer” is made.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, King said:

“I don’t think anybody would buy Vicario until next summer anyway. He wouldn’t leave Tottenham until the summer, and I think any quote of a high fee is a little over the top. Vicario for me started very well, but he hasn’t been that consistent.
“However, as I said, there is no way Spurs would let go of their number one goalkeeper until the summer unless it is a ridiculous offer, but where are Inter Milan going to get the kind of money from which Tottenham seem to be asking for?
“I don’t think there are many Italian clubs that can afford Vicario. This seems like a story plucked from the air at the moment. He is Spurs’ goalkeeper, and he will be at the end of the season.”
A report by Calciomercato also insists that the shotstopper is not likely to depart Spurs unless a “mind-blowing” offer is made for his signatures.
Despite criticisms coming his way, Vicario is an integral presence in Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs, and at the moment it doesn’t look likely for him to leave the club.
