Glenn Hoddle claims the Tottenham star Dejan Kulusevski played his 'best game' against West Ham United.

Despite a slow start that likely frustrated Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham found their rhythm midway through the first half and completely overwhelmed West Ham in the second. By the 60th minute, the game was effectively won, giving Postecoglou the luxury to rest key players. The early goal conceded was the only minor setback in what was otherwise a near-flawless performance from Spurs.

Glenn Hoddle claims the Tottenham star Dejan Kulusevski played his 'best game' against West Ham United.

Glenn Hoddle highlighted on TNT Sports that, aside from the second-half collapse against Brighton, Tottenham Hotspur’s recent performances have been quite promising. During their 4-1 victory over West Ham, Hoddle singled out Dejan Kulusevski, praising the Swede for delivering what he believes to be his best-ever performance in a Spurs shirt.

“At the end of the day they needed a result and it’s a very positive one. They were on the front foot. Kulusevksi was outstanding, the best game I’ve seen him play in a Tottenham shirt.”

Dejan Kulusevski : The man in form

The 24-year-old Swede, earning a solid £110,000 per week, joined Tottenham permanently in 2023 after a successful loan from Juventus the previous year. Kulusevski has already made 107 appearances for the club, contributing to 38 goals.

It seems Kulusevski is consistently raising his performance levels each week, particularly since being moved to the number eight role. Ange Postecoglou, in his post-match press conference, even hinted that there’s much more to come from the former Juventus star in his new position.

When asked about Kulusevski’s role in winning the midfield battle, Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou said (via Football.London): “Yeah, he’s been doing that all year, and the evolution of Deki as a player—that’s his role now, not just for us but for his national team as well. He’s got this ability to get out of tight spaces, and he’s a really strong runner. He is relentless in his running capacity and also has the quality.” With hopes high for Kulusevski’s future performances, it’s clear that he’s becoming a key figure for the club.
