Tottenham Hotspur striker Dominic Solanke has been enjoying splendid time since his move to White Hart Lane, as he found his Bournemouth mojo back donning the Lilywhites badge despite the early struggles following his £65 million move to North London.

Suddenly he is looming a potent threat upfront with not only his physique and movements but his dropping backs, which are handing Spurs advantage to spread the play and involve wide forwards and attacking midfielders in the game.

And while getting into the English squad is highly difficult with former Spurs ace Harry Kane donning the striking role, Solanke found a place for himself in the most recent England camp, which he was part of after seven long years.

However, since his last time donning the Three Lions shirt, there has been mega change behind the scenes with Thomas Tuchel taking charge of England. And John Wenham, owner of the Lilywhites podcast, thinks that having the former Chelsea head coach at helm would be music to Solanke’s ears. He insists how a managerial change gives a clean slate for the ex-Liverpool to make his mark for the Three Lions.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Wenham said:

“It will give players a fresh, clean slate. Solanke obviously worked hard to get back in the England squad. However, he only played 18 minutes over the international break, which isn’t a lot.

“When you consider Harry Kane was absent for one match, it makes you think if he wasn’t going to play when Kane wasn’t there, when would he play under Carsley? Therefore, I think the change will only be seen as a good thing. As for James Maddison, he just has to keep working hard.”

Solanke’s inclusion donning the Three Lions badge complemented by his inclusion in the English setup shows his growing stature, and Tuchel’s likeliness to experiment with tactics based on opponents could hand him an opportunity to prove his worth in the England setup, especially if he were to continue his sublime form for Tottenham.
