Dejan Kulusevski has undoubtedly been Tottenham’s best player this season
Tottenham Hotspur bounced back to winning ways in the Premier League on Saturday as they came from a goal down to beat West Ham United 4-1 at home.
Mohammed Kudus gave West Ham the lead early in the game, but Spurs equalised through Dejan Kulusevski before strikes from Yves Bissouma, Son Heung-min and an own goal from Alphonse Areola secured all three points.
Former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor feels Tottenham star Dejan Kulusevski has proved him wrong with his impressive performances this season.
The Swede scored a fine leveller that triggered the Spurs comeback against the Hammers as he continued his fantastic vein of form for club and country. He was arguably Tottenham’s best player on the pitch, running the show from the middle of the park.
The winger has been played in a few different roles, while he has also taken on more defensive responsibilities. Dejan Kulusevski has been thriving as an attacking No.8 and looks more involved in games this time around, having already registered two goals and an assist in eight Premier League outings.

Gabby Agbonlahor praised the 24-year-old for all-round play against West Ham, including him in his Team of Gameweek 8 in the process.
“I thought he [Kulusevski] was outstanding, he has been in recent weeks,” Agbonlahor said on talkSPORT.
“He has been that player that has enjoyed not playing off the wing, being able to drift into the wing, playing in that number 10 position.
“And the way he took his goal when Spurs needed him because they were a goal down. He cuts in and smashes one in off the post, both posts in fact. And just his all-round game, to be honest.
“He was making things happen, he was driving forward and I really think he has been at his best this season. So, Kulusevski, who I did criticise last season, has started this season in fine form.”
While much of the spotlight has been focused on the likes of Son Heung-min, Cristian Romero, James Maddison and Dominic Solanke for different reasons, Kulusevski’s resurgence in a new, more central role has been impossible to ignore. Both Spurs and fans from all across the world are finally beginning to see the Stockholm-born ace’s growing influence on the team.
Big Ange’s decision to switch Kulusevski’s position has worked wonders, unlocking his true potential as a creative force. Operating centrally has allowed him to showcase his vision, flair and link-up ability with his teammates, helping Spurs to get their season back on track after a difficult start.

The Tottenham gaffer feels Kulusevski can get more assists and goals, while his new teammate Solanke has labelled him ‘phenomenal’. We still believe there is a lot more to come from the Sweden international as Spurs continue improving under Big Ange.
