Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to bring in highly regarded talent to Hotspur Way as they look to build on the transfer strategy of bringing in potential players when they are young and develop them into their potential over the years budding within their academy. This is a policy change that took the Lilywhites far over the past few transfer intervals, and Daniel Levy, alongside his team, is always looking for an upper hand in landing those highly acclaimed talents.
One of the players that Spurs were trying hard to land was highly rated West Ham sensation Kyran Thompson, and everything pointed towards a White Hart Lane move till the Lilywhites North London neighbours Arsenal interfered in the eleventh hour and secured his signatures.
Tottenham misses out on Kyran Thompson to Arsenal
The fact that Tottenham are actively looking to bring the best talent from the country to the N17 for some time and the fact that they missed out on Kyran Thompson would be frustrating for the chiefs at Hotspur Way. And John Wenham, owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose, also expresses his frustration on missing out on Kyran while going on to claim that the player’s family are Arsenal supporters.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Wenham said:
“It is frustrating. I believe based on his social media, his family are Arsenal fans. Therefore, it is just an unfortunate one.
“If you’re a fan of one club, no matter how advanced talks are with another club, if the actual club you support swoops in then you’re going to sign for them, rather than their rivals. As a result, I think it was just an unlucky change of circumstances, but it is of course frustrating.”

Thompson is definitely a talent that has the potential to go big and make a mark. That being said, Ange Postecoglou wouldn’t be much concerned about the immediate effects of missing out on the teenagers; however, in the long term, and especially if Kyran goes on to make it big for the Gunners, he may turn out to be a citing example and impact Spurs’ ability to attract similar young talents in the future.
