Three talking points as Tottenham Hotspur beat Aston Villa 4-1.

Tottenham Hotspur enjoyed a special win against West Ham at the weekend when the Lilywhites returned to winning ways after what was a dimming fortnight of international football following that horrendous loss against Brighton. There was ample pressure on Ange Postecoglou going into the game, and the Greek-born head coach delivered in style as his side put four past Areola.

The game was a tale of two halves where the hosts found it difficult to keep through when the visitors landed their first blow with the opening goal when Mohamed Kudus scored the game first before Dejan Kulusevski found the back of the net before the halftime whistle. And coming into the second half, Spurs scored three and could have had many more as they put the game to bed and beyond any Hammers reach.

“Solanke didn’t score, but his all-round play was fantastic. He held up the ball, pressed the defenders, and linked up with the midfield. He’s really becoming the kind of striker Tottenham needs.”

Solanke got called up to the national camp after seven years, and he will want to carry such form into his games for Spurs as he looks to build on the success that he has started to enjoy at White Hart Lane following a difficult start to his time for his new employers.
