Tottenham receive positive injury update on Wilson Odobert
Tottenham Hotspur will be in Europa League action on Thursday evening when they host AZ Alkmaar at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Ange Postecoglou has been seemingly handed an injury boost ahead of the clash with AZ Alkmaar, with Wilson Odobert spotted in team training.
The summer recruit from Championship outfit Burnley was forced off in the first half of their dramatic late 2-1 Carabao Cup victory over Coventry last month with a hamstring injury. The young winger appears to have made good progress over recent weeks, and Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou confirmed before the West Ham United game that Wilson Odobert should be back in first-team training this week.
And that exactly has been the case, with Football London correspondent Rob Guest taking to his X account to tweet a video of Odobert training with his Tottenham teammates at the Hotspur Way ahead of the game against AZ Alkmaar.

For the Ange Postecoglou side to continue getting positive results and garnering momentum in the process, it is absolutely imperative the Spurs boss has most of the players fit at his disposal. So, the players cannot return quickly enough. Of course, an injury relapse is also possible, thus the coaching staff and the medical team will need to be extra careful with the returning players here.
Odobert had started his White Hart Lane career brightly before the injury cut short his chances under Big Ange. The teenage prodigy looks ready to return to action after he was spotted in training with the rest of the first team on Wednesday morning. The Frenchman will now be hoping to work his way into the head coach’s plans for the AZ Alkmaar clash and enjoy his first taste of European action.
Big Ange has rotated his squad well for the Europa League games this season, allowing some fringe players to shine and give some positive headache over selection in the coming weeks. And Thursday’s game against the Dutch side will be no different.

However, it is unlikely Odobert gets thrown straight into the mix. After being out with a hamstring problem for over a month, Big Ange and his coaching staff will look to ease him into the team in order to avoid a relapse of the injury. That said, we may well see the French teenager get some minutes off the bench on Thursday.
