Tottenham star Dominic Solanke will be raring to score against a struggling Crystal Palace side
Tottenham Hotspur are back in Premier League action on Sunday when they travel to Selhurst Park to face London rivals Crystal Palace.
Spurs have been dealt a blow ahead of the London derby with Son Heung-min unlikely to feature due to injury. The Tottenham skipper missed the win over AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League with muscle fatigue and Ange Postecoglou confirmed that he didn’t train on Friday with the squad, meaning he is a major doubt for Sunday.
In Son’s absence in two league games this season, the Lilywhites have scored five goals with three of those coming during the big win over Manchester United at Old Trafford at the end of September. This just goes to show the strength in depth in Spurs’ attacking unit, with Ange Postecoglou having a variety of options at his disposal.
Dominic Solanke is one of those, having joined from Bournemouth in a club-record deal in the summer. After signing for Big Ange’s white army, he has returned three goals and two assists in his 10 appearances. He has six goal contributions in his last seven appearances across all competitions.

Under-fire Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner has highlighted Tottenham’s quality depth in attack despite Son’s injury concern. He also praised Dominic Solanke, claiming him as a “top striker in the Premier League.”
“[Tottenham will bring] intensity, runs, pace, high quality,” Glasner said during his pre-match press conference. “I just heard that maybe Son is not available but, you know, they’ve bought Solanke. A top striker of the Premier League,” Glasner said in his pre-match press conference.
Solanke arrived at N17 on the back of a big price fee being spent on him but what he is doing apart from scoring goals has been really impressive. He links play, holds the ball up to bring his teammates into the game, and runs down the channels while offering a focal point in attack. The 27-year-old is doing all the good things and it is only a matter of time before he starts banging goals left, right and centre.
Even without Son, Spurs do have enough artillery to win against a struggling Palace side, who are lying in the relegation zone after a horrible start to the 2024/25 season. Big Ange has plenty of options to select his strongest front three on Sunday, hoping they click into gear and help us get the three points in south London.
