There is a lot happening behind the scenes at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with the anticipated takeover of Amanda Staveley, who is expected to buy a generous amount of equity in the North London-based club. However, this is not the only expected change at Hotspur Way, as former Everton chief Keith Wyness explains the “turnover” problem that Daniel Levy has to cement at N17 with the behind-the-scenes staff.
Keith Wyness was the Chief Executive Officer at Goodison Park for five years between 2004 and 2009, and now he runs an advising football consultancy service, and he insists that the Lilywhites are in the “final stages” of bringing in a new commercial head at White Hart Lane following a key departure.
Wyness predicts imminent appointment
Speaking on the latest episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old acknowledged how the last chief commercial officer for the North Londoners, Todd Kline, moved across London as he took a role for Spurs Premier League rivals Chelsea after resigning from his role at Tottenham in February. Daniel Levy is yet to announce a successor to Todd Kline, and Wyness previously told Football Insider that he expects the Lilywhites to appoint a new chief commercial officer “within a month.”
Tottenham have been raving in revenue numbers off late after banking a mammoth £227.7 million in commercial revenue for the 2022–23 season, which was significantly more than the £183.5 million in the previous year.
With a new commercial officer appointee around the corner, Spurs supporters would be hoping to see more revenue coming in as the club looks to get a self-sufficient financial model that can aid the Lilywhites push to stay at the top of competing for silverware.
