Former Tottenham scout slams Pedro Porro transfer admission.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane for the upcoming 2025 transfer intervals. The Spaniard’s performances have taken massive strides since his move to North London and he has established himself as not only an integral part of Ange Postecoglou‘s side but also as one of the better fullbacks in the English top tier.

His rise to the apex of his position in the Premier League has attracted interest from multiple elite clubs from around Europe, with Real Madrid leading the charge to his services. However, Premier League heavyweights Manchester City have also expressed late interest in bringing the 25-year-old to Etihad Stadium.

The North Londoners are said to have taken measures to avoid the former Sporting Lisbon defender from joining Man City, per the latest report by Football Insider, as former Lilywhites goalkeeper Paul Robinson, who still remains in touch with officials at Tottenham Hotspur, insists that the club will do everything to ensure that he remains a Spurs player.

Pep Guardiola & Co. are looking for options to replace Kyle Walker, and the defending Premier League is said to be monitoring Porro as a potential replacement. However, that being said, it will take hefty figures to persuade Daniel Levy into selling as Porro has a contract at N17 until 2028.

Football Insider in a report before has insisted that Tottenham values the 25-year-old at £80 million and it would take a huge bid from City in order for Spurs to consider selling Porro.

Tottenham determined to keep Porro

Speaking on the latest episode of the Inside Track podcast, former Spurs goalie said:

“[I] Wouldn’t like to see it from a Tottenham point of view. He’s certainly one that is on the radar for Manchester City. From Tottenham’s point of view, they are fighting tooth and nail to keep him.

“If they want to be competing in those Champions League places, you need players like that and you certainly don’t need to be selling, I’m going to say, to ‘rivals’.

“Now Tottenham aren’t really title contenders are they? So they’re not really a direct rival, but actually a player like Poro would fit into that Manchester City team. When he plays in that hybrid role, he’s a player who often finds himself isolated up the pitch, high up the pitch, but his quality lies in the final third with his delivery, with his visions, with his passes.

“And he’s got great delivery as well and he’s not afraid to shoot.

“He’s definitely a player that you could see working in that Pep Guardiola system, as much as that pains me to say it.”
