The Lilywhites have been sending scouts to Signal Iduna Park on a consistent basis to keep a close look at the winter playing his trade in the German top tier. Tottenham have been accompanied by Chelsea in the audience. However, the 20-year-old will warrant a hefty price tag, with his current employers looking at a probable £83 million-plus fee for the forward.

And ex-Spurs scout Bryan King claims that Tottenham are monitoring Gittens alongside scouts from across European elite clubs. Speaking in an interview with Tottenham News, King said:

“Gittens is obviously progressing well with Dortmund.”

“English clubs are watching German clubs all the time. Now we have a German club which seems to have become a breeding ground for talented English players. Therefore, I imagine there will be a lot of analysts and scouts making the journey over to Dortmund. Gittens is definitely one to be monitored by Tottenham.”

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens has shown the capacity to operate on the highest levels; however, it is difficult to signify if he warrants such hefty fees, a sum that no club is likely going to spend in the winter transfer window. However, if he is to continue his progress with Dortmund and take similar strides along the season, there should be a lot of clubs lining up for his signatures when the summer transfer window comes along.
