Tottenham keen on out-of-contract Premier League striker; January move possible

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been linked with Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur have been looking at potential players that can replace Richarlison as an understudy striker to Dominic Solanke, and Everton centre-forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been among the names that the North Londoners are potentially vying for in a bid to bring the Englishman to White Hart Lane.

Richy has endured a difficult spell in North London and has found himself a consistent presence in the treatment room, while his displays when on the pitch haven’t been near the expectations of when Daniel Levy forked out £60 million to land his services. The Brazilian has only found the back of the net 16 times in 71 appearances donning the Spurs badge, and the chefs at Hotspur Way are pondering possibilities of moving on from the former Watford star.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin can follow in the footsteps of Richarlison in moving to Hotspur Way from Goodison Park, and his experience in the English top flight can help Ange Postecoglou not only add the depth but also the quality that Spurs are seeking.

DCL has been renowned for his physical presence and aerial ability leading the offensive line, and he would not only offer an alternative but could also be a complement to Solanke’s style of play when the Lilywhites are trailing, much like in yesterday’s game against Crystal Palace.

Calvert-Lewin’s contract with Everton comes due at the end of the ongoing season, and to avoid the 1997-born striker leaving on a free transfer, the Merseyside Blues are ready to sanction a January transfer for the striker, per Juve Live, and Daniel Levy will be among the suitors looking to take advantage of the situation and land him on a bargain deal.
