"Why would I be happy"- Postecoglou cuts a frustrated figure as Tottenham fall to Crystal Palace.

Tottenham Hotspur’s recent momentum took a hit on Sunday as they succumbed to a 1-0 defeat against Crystal Palace in a tightly contested affair at Selhurst Park. This loss marks Spurs’ second in their last three Premier League outings, leaving fans frustrated.

The match itself was a scrappy encounter, with the teams combining for 28 fouls, showcasing the intensity on the pitch. Despite the physicality, Spurs showcased their attacking intent, dominating possession with an impressive 67 percent of the ball. However, they struggled to convert that control into clear-cut chances, ultimately falling short against a resilient Palace side.

The Gaffer was not delighted with how the game went

Despite their dominance in possession, Spurs couldn’t translate that advantage into a meaningful edge in goal-scoring opportunities. Crystal Palace doubled Tottenham’s tally for shots on target, hitting the mark six times to Spurs’ three. The decisive moment came in the 31st minute when Palace capitalised on Tottenham’s hesitance in their defensive half, scoring the only goal of the match. This frustrating display leaves the North London side still well outside the Champions League spots, intensifying their search for answers as they look to regain their footing in the Premier League.

In the words of Ange himself speaking to BBC, here is what he said:

“It turned into a game they were thriving on and we should have dealt with it better. It was a poor goal to concede, it had nothing to do with playing out from the back. That can happen.

“I’d be very surprised if they were happy right now. Why would I be happy? If I’m unhappy then they’ll be unhappy. If you’re suggesting that our fans weren’t happy with today then that’s a fair assessment.”
