Real Madrid want to sign Pedro Porro from Tottenham
Real Madrid had previously shown an interest in signing Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero. While nothing came of it in following the rumours, it is not ruled out that they make a swoop for the World Cup winner next summer given their ageing backline in which Eder Militao is the only central defender under the age of 30, while Jesus Vallejo is out of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans.
It turns out Romero is not the only Spurs player they are after with Spanish source Diario AS recently reporting that Pedro Porro is the latest on Madrid’s wish-list. They are expected to be in the transfer market for a right back to replace Dani Carvajal, 32, and an ACL injury suffered by the veteran in October may lead to them expediting the operation for a new signing.
Trent Alexander-Arnold remains their primary target given his impending free agency next summer but Porro has been identified as an alternative to the Liverpool star if he prolongs his stay at Anfield. With that said, the Spaniard was on the Whites’ radar since his tenure at Sporting Lisbon until Spurs move quicker for the full back and guaranteed him a regular berth in their team as well.
Tottenham are unlikely to give into Madrid’s interest towards Porro. Daniel Levy has proven to be a stern negotiator and is likely to slap the player with a massive price tag with his importance in Ange Postecoglou’s plans in mind, as well as a contract that is valid until June 2028. As a result, it looks like an unlikely prospect for Porro to join the European champions unless he also pushes for a move.

Having started each of the team’s Premier League matches this season, Postecoglou will count on him once more over the coming weekend when Aston Villa visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Lilywhites will be keen on returning to winning ways after a defeat against Crystal Palace last time out and will use their win against Manchester City as a morale-booster.
