Tottenham looking to make a bold move to steal Hein from Arsenal

Tottenham keen to bring back Marcus Edwards but face competition from Manchester United.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move to bring Arsenal goalkeeper Karl Hein to White Hart Lane when his contract at the Emirates Stadium expires at the end of the ongoing season.

The Estonian international has been impressive in his loan spell at La Liga side Real Valladolid, and he has been putting in some exemplary performances on a consistent basis for his temporary employers despite their struggles towards the bottom of the Spanish top tier. And his performances have caught the eye of Daniel Levy and his team, who are ready to move for the shot stopper in a move that Football Insider reports, “no one saw coming.”

Spurs target Hein as Vicario’s backup

The North Londoners have been looking to bring in a reliable backup goalkeeper to Guglielmo Vicario, and they are looking to raid their arch-rivals in a move for their next number two. Karl Hein is at a place where he needs to feature regularly, and that doesn’t look the case if he were to stay in his current role at Arsenal given how David Raya has taken the helm at N5.

That being said, it will be interesting to see whether he is ready to accept a backup role for the Italian international at White Hart Lane.

The 22-year-old has been highly regarded by clubs around Europe, and he will be looking to move to a place where he can be relied on and feature regularly. If he were to accept a move to Tottenham, it would be under circumstances where he can push and possibly overtake Guglielmo Vicario as first choice between the woodworks.

Daniel Levy will play a masterstroke card if he is successful in his bid to land Karl Hein on a free transfer; however, it looks like a difficult prospect at the moment.
