Tottenham are intensifying their pursuit of silverware as they approach their second season under Ange Postecoglou’s guidance, with plans to strengthen the squad in the upcoming transfer window.
One key target is the young Danish winger Patrick Dorgu, who has been on their radar for some time. However, Tottenham may face competition as Chelsea and Liverpool are also interested, and Dorgu is reportedly considering staying in Serie A rather than making a Premier League move.
As reported by GIVEMESPORT, a Lecce coach has expressed little surprise at the growing transfer interest in Patrick Dorgu, especially with links emerging to Tottenham and other European clubs. Tottenham, who have been tracking the promising left-back for several months, are reportedly hesitant due to Lecce’s valuation of £29.5 million (€35 million) for the 20-year-old talent.
The left-back is bound for PL-level football
Patrick Dorgu rose through the ranks of the Lecce academy, impressing both fans and pundits with his performances. Currently earning around £10,900 gross per week, he has already made 46 appearances for the Italian side. Despite Lecce’s struggles in terms of results, Dorgu continues to stand out with his individual performances, drawing significant interest from top European clubs.
The Denmark international has extended his contract until the summer of 2029, but this is unlikely to prevent his departure; instead, it will simply increase his market value.
Dan Thomassen, assistant coach to Lecce manager Luca Gotti, has acknowledged that it comes as no surprise that top teams are monitoring the 6ft 2in player.
Speaking to TipsBladet, The coach exclaimed
“Those of us who deal with him every day quickly find out how great the potential is. People on the outside only watch the games, of course, but I am in no way surprised by what he is up to and the interest in him.
“I could already see that from the first week I arrived. It does not surprise me at all that there is such great interest in him. He is exploring his potential.”
“I don’t think the club has had any doubts about the potential. Over the past six months it has been an upward curve for Patrick and I also think the club can see that potential has turned into continuous performances on the pitch.
“This has meant that he has joined the A national team. I see it as a natural development that he has extended towards us.”

Numerous teams are expected to keep an eye on Dorgu’s development over the next season, and if he maintains his current trajectory, Lecce could secure a substantial fee for this emerging talent. Should Spurs sign him, it would likely signal the end of Wales defender Ben Davies’ tenure at the club, as the 31-year-old is set to be out of contract next summer.
