Due to several injuries as per premier injuries, Tottenham’s squad for Thursday’s Europa League clash with Galatasaray could have youth running wild. Cristian Romero and Richarlison both limped off during Sunday’s 4-1 victory over Aston Villa, while Micky van de Ven and Wilson Odobert are also sidelined. As a result, a number of Tottenham’s promising young players have travelled to Istanbul with Ange Postecoglou’s first-team squad for the match against Galatasaray.
Ange Postecoglou and his squad have now headed to Istanbul for their fourth Europa League fixture, giving fans a sneak peek at the travelling players. As is customary before an away European match, Tottenham shared a short video of the squad boarding their flight to Turkey. While the senior players are present, a few of the club’s academy talents have also joined to bolster the roster. Will Lankshear, as expected, accompanies the first team, joined by fellow young talents Alfie Dorrington, Dante Cassanova, Callum Olusesi, and Luca Williams-Barnett.
Can we see some moment of action from the youngsters.
Lankshear, Dorrington, and Cassanova are already registered on Tottenham’s B list for Europe, ensuring their eligibility for Thursday’s match at RAMS Park. For Olusesi, Williams-Barnett, and any other academy players without B-list registration, the club must add them by midnight (CET) the day before the game if they are to be eligible. Tottenham Under-18s star Tynan Thompson, who was seen training with the first team at Hotspur Way before the Galatasaray fixture, wasn’t spotted boarding the plane. However, it’s worth noting that the 30-second clip of players boarding is only a brief glimpse, meaning some travelling players may not appear in the video.
Tottenham’s social media post featured senior players Ben Davies, Fraser Forster, Son Heung-min, Guglielmo Vicario, Dominic Solanke, Radu Dragusin, Archie Gray, James Maddison, Pape Matar Sarr, and Yves Bissouma as they prepared for the trip to Istanbul. Among the notable inclusions was 16-year-old Luca Williams-Barnett, whose selection has thrilled Spurs fans, given his impressive record of eight goals and three assists in seven matches for the Under-18s this season.
