Bryan King has criticised Radu Drăgușin following his performance for Tottenham in their 3-2 defeat to Galatasaray. The former Spurs scout was left unimpressed with the entire back-four during the UEFA Europa League match at RAMS Park on Thursday.
Galatasaray took full advantage of Radu Drăgușin’s poor touch midway through the first half, with Victor Osimhen putting the hosts ahead after Will Lankshear had equalised following Yunus Akgün’s stunning opener. Despite Lankshear’s sending-off, he was praised for his efforts, while Osimhen netted again. Dominic Solanke came on and scored, but Tottenham’s late push wasn’t enough, and the defeat was sealed.
Radu Drăgușin Must Improve to Secure N-17 Future
Tottenham’s performance against Galatasaray was disjointed, with club captain Son Heung-min among several players having an off night. However, it was Radu Drăgușin who stood out for all the wrong reasons.
With ongoing transfer speculation linking the centre-back to a move to Juventus via La Gazzetta dello Sport, many Spurs fans may be tempted to see him leave after his poor display. Yet, given the current injury crisis and Postecoglou’s squad challenges, Tottenham can’t afford to lose Drăgușin just yet. His improvement is crucial for the team’s defensive depth moving forward.
King speaking exclusively to Tottenham News couldn’t believe what he saw from Drăgușin, as he criticized
“After all that noise about Drăgușin not being in the team enough, he was given his chance and we saw what happened in the first half with him.“
“His first touch before the second goal was poor and it presented Galatasaray a chance to close him down. That was a horrendous mistake.“
