Tottenham Hotspur have been attributed to links with a move for Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Hugo Larsson in the upcoming 2025 transfer intervals.
The North Londoners have been linked with a probable transfer to bring in a new midfielder as Ange Postecoglou looks to build depth and quality in the middle of the park. Spurs are yet to replace the influence of the veteran departures of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Gio Lo Celso in the summer transfer window, and the Australian head coach has made no secret of his desire to add a player who can bring both dynamism and technical quality to his midfield.
Spurs linked with Swedish starlet Larsson
Spurs have been looking to bring 20-year-old Swedish midfielder Hugo Larsson, who has been taking strides in the German top tier as the winter window draws near. However, it wouldn’t be easy to secure his signatures owing to multiple attributions. The player has been subject to links with a move to multiple Premier League heavyweights in Arsenal and Liverpool, which makes the Lilywhites pursuit a difficult one, per Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg.
Moreover, Hugo also recently signed a contract extension with his current employers, and the new contract isn’t said to have any release clause. This new contract will add another layer of complexity to Tottenham’s pursuit, as without a release clause, the German club will be in a stronger position to negotiate a higher transfer fee that will make any potential move more expensive than what Levy would have hoped.
And despite the links, it is to be seen if Tottenham’s chairman is willing to flex his financial muscles to land the Swede midfielder.
