Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City: Best Hopes and Worst Fears Revealed.

Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to explore options to bring depth and quality in the centre-back role in the 2025 transfer intervals, and Daniel Levy is said to be exploring options to bring Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah to White Hart Lane. The German defender’s contract with his current employers comes due at the end of the ongoing campaign, and the 28-year-old is said to be open to exploring options for a move away from Bundesliga giants as he looks for new challenges in his career.

The Lilywhites are in dire need of qualitative depth at the heart of defence, with Ange Postecoglou demanding a new centre-back for sometime. The Australian head coach has an established defensive duo of Cristian Romero and Micky Van de Ven; however, he only has Radu Dragusin as a cover to both, with Ben Davies another deputy. And Spurs have been looking for a new defender.

Tottenham face Madrid competition for Tah

However, any move for Tah could now be complicated as La Liga giants Real Madrid join the race to his signatures, per Spanish outlet Fichajes, as they look to bring in a cover for recently injured Eder Militao.

Madrid could look to exploit Tah’s current contract situation and try to explore a possible bargain transfer in the upcoming winter window.

For Tottenham, this would take out a possible target away from their grasps. They were looking at Tah to potentially replace Romero if he were to move to Real Madrid in the summer; however, those dynamics would go out the window if the German international moves to Madrid in January.
