Podcast host makes Ange Postecoglou sack claim as pressure mounts

Strongest Tottenham XI against Brighton & Hove Albion

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou has been under massive pressure owing to the slow start that his side has endured in the ongoing 2024/25 Premier League campaign with the Lilywhites struggling to find a run of form. The latest defeat against Ipswich Town ahead of the international break has left them in a peculiar place as they play tenth in the Premiership table.

With the club lying far away from their objective of a possible Champions League qualification, many supporters are calling for the Australian head coach to be shown the doors with Spurs having lost five of their eleven (11) Premier League games in the ongoing campaign.

Pressure on Postecoglou as Tottenham continue to struggle

However, despite such suggestions, John Wenham, owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose, insists that the North Londoners won’t be putting any internal pressure on the Australian head coach while suggesting that the former Celtic manager needs time to fix the problems that his side have experienced this season.

Wenham, speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, reminds Spurs faithful that the current roster is still in the process of rebuilding. He said:

“I don’t think there is any pressure on Postecoglou from within the club.

“I think there is a realisation that the squad is being rebuilt and it is still very young. Some of the results have been disappointing, make no mistake about that.

“However, I think apart from games against Ipswich, Crystal Palace and Coventry, the performances haven’t been bad, and we’ve deserved more than we’ve got from some games.

“Therefore, I think Postecoglou will just need some time to iron out some of these issues.”

It is fair to understand that Ange Postecoglou needs time to implement his vision and offensive-minded playing style, while it is also important to remember that this is a transitional period at White Hart Lane, and expecting instant results isn’t apt.
