Tottenham honcho Daniel Levy keeps 'huge fee' aside to bring in a marquee player in the winter transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to build on their successful summer transfer window as the Lilywhites look to bring in more highly acclaimed prospects through the doors at White Hart Lane, and the North Londoners have been subject to links with a move for Louie Barry with a winter window just around the corner.

Daniel Levy has been looking to compound on the newly adopted strategy of signing high-potential young players and developing them within the corridors of Tottenham Hotspur Way as Spurs look to nurture the talent with the goal of creating a long-term and sustainable model for success at N17.

Can Tottenham steal Barry?

The Lilywhites are one of the clubs interested in landing the Stockport loanee, who is expected to command a fee along the lines of £12.5 million given his form off late. The 21-year-old forward has had multiple loan spells away from Aston Villa, with spells at Ipswich, Swindon, MK Dons, and Salford before he found his feet at Stockport.

Tottenham have been expressing interest in signing him, per Fichajes, and Premier League rivals Leicester City are also said to be looking at the player.

For Tottenham, they have a highly acclaimed young striker among the ranks at Hotspur Way in Will Lankshear, and it doesn’t make sense to buy another starlet, which would be a developing hurdle for the academy graduate.

That being said, Levy’s interest in signing Louie Barry shows the focus to bolster the attacking options at N17 with a particular eye on the future, and while Will Lankshear is a promising young talent in the academy, bringing in another highly-rated forward could aid healthy competition and offer depth at White Hart Lane in the long run.
