Tottenham defender William Gallas claims he has ‘drawn a line’ under his international career after not being selected for any of Laurent Blanc’s squads since he took over as head coach.

The 33 year old’s last involvement for France was their ill-fated 2010 World Cup campaign, which will forever be remembered by the players striking after Nicholas Anelka was sent home by then coach Raymond Domenech.

After not being included in the squads to face Belarus, Poland and Ukraine, Gallas told L’Equipe “When I saw I had returned to my top level with Tottenham, I thought Blanc would recall me.

“It was said the best would be selected and I think this season I was one of the best French players in my position.

“Well, if it’s like that, I have drawn a line under my international career.”

Gallas signed for Spurs from Arsenal last summer and his fine performances have seen him rewarded with a new two-year contract.
