Tottenham have beaten off competition to sign highly-rated winger Iago Falque on loan.
The Spaniard spent last season on loan with Villarreal B, scoring 11 goals in 36 appearances, and recently extended his contract with Juventus until 2014 before allowing the 21-year-old to leave on loan.
Spurs wanted to sign the winger on a permanent basis but the Turin giants were only willing to allow him to leave on a temporary basis.
And Falque’s father has confirmed his son is relishing the opportunity to play for the North London outfit next season.
“Iago loves big challenges and this with Spurs is very important,” said Falque Snr.
“It will be hard, but he will fight for his place.”
Rayo Vallecano, Celta Vigo and Levante were all interested in the Spanish U-21 international before he opted to move to the Premiership side.
