Former Tottenham full-back Alan Hutton has hit out at the treatment he received at the hands from former manager Harry Redknapp.

Hutton left White Hart Lane as Premier League rivals Aston Villa this summer after an indifferent stint with the North London side.

The Scotland international claims Redknapp forced him to train with the youth team and the 26-year-old, who moved to Spurs three-years ago, says he was upset by the way he was treated towards the end of his time with the club.

“The last straw for me was when I was made to train with the kids. I don’t know what that was about. You’ll have to ask Mr Redknapp,” Hutton said

“He never said anything to me when I left the club. I can’t actually tell you the last time we spoke. It was probably when I heard the words, ‘I don’t want you to train with us any more, I want you to train with the kids’.

“I just don’t think anyone should be treated like that. For me, Spurs was an unhappy place. I knew my time was up long ago. When Redknapp came in, it just went downhill from there.

“I thought about going back to Scotland many times. At Tottenham I didn’t have a love for football because I didn’t feel wanted.”

Hutton claims he witnessed a very different side of Redknapp then the way he is portrayed in the media and the former Rangers defender went on to add: “I’m not going to say who but there were so many people in that squad who felt unwanted.

“I’ve never experienced anything like that anywhere I’ve been.”
