Can Spurs push for the title?

Another summer of uncertainty for Tottenham Hotspur is again upon the fans. First it was the sacking of Harry Redknapp, before Andre Villas-Boas was called in to succeed the veteran boss. However, there are still a number of pieces needed to complete the jigsaw. The doubt’s over the future of Luka Modric and the need for a new striker means the club head into the season with a dark cloud looming over White Hart Lane, now would be the best time to head over to http://www.onlinecasinoaustralia.com.au/ and play a round or two in a football themed slots game win enough money and bet on Spurs to push for the Premiership crown.

Last season, Spurs came perilously close to crashing the Premier League party, coming within three points of top spot during the campaign. However, as many know, the North London side ended up capitulating and finishing fourth following reports linking Redknapp with the England role. Nevertheless, it showed that the club are capable of pushing for major honours, should they hold their nerve when the going gets tough.

Under Villas-Boas, Spurs now have a manager capable of picking up major honours as witnessed during his time with FC Porto. Granted, his short spell at Chelsea ended abruptly, but his reputation isn’t tarnished as a result. The 34-year-old guided the Portuguese giants to an unbeaten domestic, while picking up the Portuguese cup and Europa League in the process.

As such, the young tactician managed to break Jose Mourinho’s records during his one year at the helm, leading the comparisons between himself and the current Real Madrid head coach. The ongoing speculation suggesting Modric could move to Los Blancos has done little to hinder the club’s pre-season campaign, as Spurs head into their final pre-season friendly against Valencia on Thursday unbeaten.

Minor tweaks are needed, granted, included the aforementioned striker needed to be drafted in. However, with three weeks remaining of the transfer window, there is time to make the required additions. If the players can adhere to Villas-Boas’ system, then the opportunity to end a four-year wait for glory is certainly well within the club’s grasp, be in the domestic title or otherwise.
