It is a straight shootout now with Tottenham trying to hunt down Leicester in the Premier League race. Leicester should have been clear with eight points between them and the London side but a draw against West Ham and a win for Tottenham against Stoke has given a glimmer of hope for Spurs.

Five points isn’t that hard to overcome and with Leicester to play Everton, Manchester United and Chelsea at the end of the season, it could be a tight race for the crown. Tottenham on the other hand have the easier ties with games against West Bromwich Albion and Southampton at home though a tricky tie at Chelsea, which could be immense in the title race.

Leicester also face Chelsea but that is the last game of the season for the Foxes and the chance to win the title against the Premier League champions would be a tantalizing ask but certainly not something that any Foxes fan would want, remember Liverpool blowing it all up against Chelsea a couple of years ago?

Tottenham might have won the last game but Leicester still have form on their side having won five and drawn just one of their last six games. Tottenham aren’t any worse, they have won four and drawn two out of their last six but have scored 15 goals in those six games while Leicester have scored just eight goals in their last six games.

Pressure certainly has been growing on the Foxes as the goals have dried up. Tottenham also have the best attack and defence in the Premier League and that too will have a hand as the clubs go chasing down the Premier League title.

One factor that can certainly work in favour of Tottenham is in the striking department. While Harry Kane is now the top scorer in the Premier League and is in red hot form, Jamie Vardy went off the boil and was sent off against West Ham, not only that, he could be in more trouble with the referee and he could face a longer ban.

The lack of Vardy at the top will hurt Leicester a whole lot since they will miss out on the energy and pace he provides to the team. Claudio Ranieri has already stated that if Tottenham do win the league it would be because they are a better team than Leicester and they would deserve it.

Leicester might not have the best of records against the big sides this season and the game against Manchester United could be the clincher, if they do win that, the title could well be theirs but anything less than a win would mean that Tottenham are in the driving seat thanks to their relatively easier fixtures.

Harry Kane did state that Tottenham have to win all their games and with cracks appearing in the Leicester side, Tottenham could still win the league title, but whatever does happen, this Premier League race will be etched in memory for a long time to come.
