Franco Vazquez

Tottenham manager in his search for more players to take his side to the next level seems to be moving for Franco Vazquez from Palermo. Although the player isn’t too keen to move away from the Serie A club, he could still be a fantastic signing if the Premier League side does make a decent bid, reported of around £23m to sign the 27-year-old.

The Italian star is someone who can play in a range of positions and that is his greatest strength though he is mostly known for his role in an attacking midfielder, he can also do a job in the defensive midfielder’s role, which will certainly help Pochettino rotate his midfield around a lot more.

Franco is known for his assist making and he is one of the best in that stat with seven assists this season for the Serie A side. The Italian midfielder also scored eight goals in 36 appearances for the Palermo side.

The 27-year-old might not be one of the youngest players in the league but he can even play as a second striker, which again would help take the work load off Harry Kane also. He is seen as someone who can fit into the Tottenham playing style and it certainly would help the Premier League side to deal with the extra games being played next season.

The Palermo star also is known for being someone with a lot of energy and his endless running does lead to him giving more than a helping hand in defence as well, something that Tottenham are known for and Pochettino would expect next season from any signings he does make.

The likes of Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele did have a great season for the Whites but they would need more cover, especially world class cover to deal with the suspensions and lack of form or injuries that any player might pick up next season.

Vazquez is also known for his direct running and has a great range of passing as well. His link-up play with the forwards at Palermo isn’t bad either, though him moving to a more physical league might prove to be a little difficult to adjust to in the initial months but he can prove to be a great signing for Pochettino.

The Argentine needs to have quality and this player would have bag loads of it. It would be a tough signature to get next season but he could easily become a star at White Hart Lane and give a great run to Dembele and co for a starting spot in the team.
