Tottenham have been heavily linked with Marseille’s winger Kevin N’Koudou, but according to the Guardian, the deal is on the verge to collapse.
The same source further reported that N’Koudou, who passed his medical for the Lilly-Whites, three weeks ago, was a subject of Tottenham’s £11m bid, but the offer felt short of Marseille’s valuation. The manager was looking keen on adding the 21-year-old to the squad, but now it seems like he will have to find an alternative.
Besides the incoming, the reports have claimed that many players are considering their future uncertain for the upcoming season. Alex Pritchard and Federico Fazio have already left the club, while Nabil Bentaleb’s fate is yet to be decided. Besides all of that, the Mirror has reported that the Lilly-Whites have put a £20m price tag on Nacer Chadli.
The 27-year-old Belgian international is now a reported target for the Premier League side Swansea City, who recently sold Andre Ayew to West Ham, and also for the Bundesliga outfit, Borussia Dortmund. The winger had a great start to his Tottenham career, but eventually lost his place in Pochettino’s plans and now, it is understood that even the player wants to move out of the club.
Well, in that case, we will give you three perfect replacements for Nacer Chadli, that Tottenham could sincerely consider:
-
Hakim Ziyech-
Nacer Chadli was bought from the Dutch side FC Twente in a deal worth £7m, and if Tottenham are willing to look for a replacement, they could send their scouts to his previous club yet again. The Dutch side, Twente, is currently a home for the 23-year-old Moroccan professional Hakim Ziyech.
Ziyech is known for his attacking prowess and besides that, he is greatly regarded for his wonderful ability to take a set-piece. The Moroccan, till date, has made 64 appearances for the Dutch side and has scored an impressive 28 goals. The 23-year-old isn’t the strongest player on the field, but his style could probably fit the manager, who loves to play passionate football, hence, the White Hart Lane, could well be an option to consider for the player.
-
Davy Klaassen-
Another 23-year-old, another Eredivisie star. The Dutch professional is regarded as one of the finest players in the Eredivisie, but is yet to taste the football of Premier League stature. The 23-year-old marked some impressive numbers to his name last season, as he scored 15 goals and further assisted 8.
Touted as the new Bergkamp, Klaassen is known for his cool and composed style of football. He loves to dictate the tempo of the game and along with the players like Alli and Eriksen, the 23-year-old could really do wonders. His preferred spot is the central attacking zone, but when in need, he could be deployed on the wings. At one point in his career, the 23-year-old was linked with Arsenal, but somehow, the deal collapsed, but this time, an offer from the Lilly-Whites might do the trick.
-
Maximilian Arnold-
Travelling a bit further to the Bundesliga, Tottenham could set their sights on Wolfsburg midfielder, Maximilian Arnold, who got the better of the team like Real Madrid last term. He isn’t the most prolific goal scorer in the sport, but his playmaking abilities could well be a threat to the opposition.
The player is known for his precision and dribbling abilities, which could really complement the games of Lamela and Eriksen. Besides that, given his experience in the Champions League, he could help the side in many aspects. The only limitation with him is his positioning. He prefers to play a central role, and could well be used as a deep lying playmaker if necessary. Yes, he still needs to work more on his defensive contributions, but apart from that, he is a diamond that Pochettino could refine.
