Tottenham Track €8m Rated Valencia Ace Who Could Follow The Path Of Juan Mata And David Silva To The Premier League

Rafa Mir

Tottenham’s policy of promoting young players certainly is bearing fruit for the first team and it seems the London club are willing to bring in one of the most talented players from Spain to the club too.

Spanish source fichajes.net reports that Rafa Mir from Valencia is a serious target for Mauricio Pochettino’s side and amid claims that the performances of the forward for the reserve side has caught the eyes of a number of clubs.

The 19-year-old Spanish starlet has also been scouted by many teams but he hasn’t gotten a lot of chances to prove himself in the first team of Valencia. It is well known that Valencia have had troubles with finances and the report claims that Tottenham will have to pitch up to €8 million to sign the player up.

That €8 million is just the release clause and Tottenham would certainly have to go higher than that to get Mir on their side. Valencia, for once, do not want to sell one of their brightest players and that would be good news for a team that has seen players like David Silva, David Villa and Juan Mata leave for better opportunities.

The 19-year-old has played a couple of games for the La Liga side this season but hasn’t really done much for the first team.

Our Verdict

The problem with Spurs’ recent signings has been that their young players haven’t really done well. The club will probably not be worried about the current price tag of the player and given that he is one of the brightest talents from Spain, Pochettino could turn him into a world class player.

This could also mean that the end of Vincent Janssen is near as Mir would be an understudy to Kane. We will have to wait and see how it goes with this transfer rumour but for now, Spurs have a long way to go before they can bring in this Spanish gem.
