Predicted Tottenham Lineup To Face Manchester United

Tottenham Hotspur lost their way in the race to the title when they failed to take even a single point against local rivals West Ham in the previous round. They have to keep winning to keep up with Chelsea but the Blues can run away with the title, even before the Spurs kick a ball this weekend.

So this trip to White Hart Lane for Manchester United might not mean a lot for either team. United are now resolved to winning the Europa League for Champions League qualification while Spurs have little to play for if Chelsea beat West Brom on Friday night. However, both teams will fight for nothing less than a victory.

Team News

Tottenham have no new injury issues ahead of this game. Erik Lamela and Harry Winks are not expected to be back in action anytime soon.

Probable Tottenham Playing XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

GK – Hugo Lloris

The French star has been in impeccable form for Tottenham and has been a regular starter under Pochettino this season.

RB – Kyle Walker

Though he has had problems with the manager recently, Walker is important to the plans of the club and should start this game at right back.

CB – Toby Alderweireld

The Belgian defender is one of the best in the league at the moment but will have to be at his best against the likes of Rashford.

CB – Jan Vertonghen

Toby’s partner in crime at the back, Vertonghen has also been solid for Spurs and will hope to keep United away from their goal.

LB – Ben Davies

With Danny Rose still not back in training, Davies is expected to keep his place on the left-hand side of the defence.

CM – Eric Dier

Though Wanyama has been brilliant, Pochettino should go with Dier to add some threat in front of goal from the midfield.

CM – Mousa Dembele

Partnering Dier in the midfield should be Dembele who will be in charge of the creative work from a deeper role.

RW – Christian Eriksen

The Danish star has been in terrific form of late for Tottenham and will be a danger man for Spurs in this game.

CAM – Dele Alli

The young playmaker had a tough time against West Ham in the previous round and will be raring to take on the Red Devils this weekend.

LW – Heung-Min Son

With Sissoko and Janssen not showing enough promise, and Lamela being injured, Pochettino has had no option but to use Son regularly on the left flank.

ST – Harry Kane

The biggest threat to United and their centre backs will be the English striker Harry Kane, who is capable of winning this game on his own.

This is how Tottenham might line up:
