Tottenham Handed Huge Boost As Target Refuses To Sign New Deal With Bundesliga Club

Max Meyer

Tottenham’s hopes of signing German international Max Meyer have been given a huge boost according to reports coming in from Germany.

The Schalke midfielder has been linked with a move to Spurs for a while now and with his contract ending next summer, it is extremely important for the German side to get him to sign a new deal.

Fortunately for us, the 21-year-old doesn’t seem to want to sign a new deal as per his latest comments. German outlet Bild reports that Meyer has rejected a new deal and was quoted by them as saying:

“I have an offer to extend, but with my management decided not to accept it.”

This was further corroborated by the Sky Sports German Twitter handle according to Football.London.

While Meyer might not have shined a lot for the German side last season as he scored just a couple of goals, he still is one of the brightest talents to have come out from Germany in recent years.

The 21-year-old can play in a number of positions and Mauricio Pochettino is keen on adding quality to our side ahead of next season. Meyer wouldn’t be extremely expensive considering the fact that he has only one year left on his contract and that is one major reason why we should sign him as quickly as possible.

Football.London also claims that the 21-year-old can be signed for a paltry sum of €20million which would be great considering some of the crazy prices paid for players in the Premier League.

Meyer is a talent, there is no doubt and can be a mainstay for the team in the heart of midfield for years to come. The big question is if he would be willing to join us in England.

We aren’t the only ones interested in his signature but should he come, he would be a great signing for the future.
