Tottenham striker and England captain Harry Kane is being rested ahead of the UEFA Nations League games for the Three Lions.
The striker was one of a handful of players who did not complete training on Tuesday over burnout fears, as per the Mirror.
It wasn’t just Kane who got a break as the report adds Jordan Henderson, Joe Gomez, Jadon Sancho and John Stones all finished their workouts early.
The report claims that Gareth Southgate feared the striker is playing too many games and didn’t start Kane in the last game against Switzerland too.
The 25-year-old was one of the stars for the Three Lions in the World Cup and won the Golden Boot. However, he started the season slowly for Tottenham and struggled to find the net in the first month of this campaign.
Southgate is expected to take a similar stance on keeping his players fresh for the clashes against Croatia and Spain in the coming days.
There was additional news for Tottenham as Danny Rose didn’t participate in training due to an injury he picked up while playing for the club.
The report adds that Danny Welbeck and Alex McCarthy also sat out the session with Rose given their current injuries.

Kane is important for club and country, and hopefully, he comes back without any problems and is fit for the clash against West Ham.
