Tottenham are interested in Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure, according to the Mirror. The report claims there are doubts about the future of Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama at Spurs.
There are a number of clubs keeping an eye on the Watford man with PSG, Liverpool and Arsenal tracking his progress, as per the report.
Wanyama picked up a knee injury during pre-season and has struggled for fitness this season. The midfielder did play in our 3-1 win over West Ham in the Carabao Cup but picked up an injury after the game.
Doucoure has been impressive for Watford this season and has helped them to a great start to the season. The Hornets are seventh in the Premier League after 10 games and have won six of those clashes.
Tottenham do have options for their midfield with Eric Dier and Harry Winks, but there isn’t a midfield destroyer such as Doucoure.
The report claims the Malian is rated at £35m, and he could be a decent signing given his quality and potential to get even better.
The midfielder destroyer has played 10 Premier League games for Watford so far and has four assists to his name.
Tottenham didn’t make a move in the summer but we do need to sign players and keep the team fresh. Doucoure might not be one of the biggest names in the Premier League, but he is a quality player that Spurs could do with.
