Tottenham are negotiating a move for Sampdoria’s Joachim Anderson, according to the Sun.
The Danish defender joined the Serie A club a couple of years ago and is now rated at £25million (h/t Sun). Andersen also attracted the interest of Manchester United, and the report claims that Arsenal are also in talks with Sampdoria for the 22-year-old.
Reports from Italy (h/t Sun) claim a couple of Samp officials travelled to London recently to hold talks with Spurs and the Gunners.
Andersen has played 13 times for the Serie A club and has helped them to 12th place in the league. Tottenham have a few problems regarding their defence with Jan Vertonghen out for a while, and adding some steel to the back would certainly help us for the remainder of the season.
Arsenal negotiated with Sampdoria in the summer window for Lucas Torreira, and it will be interesting to see which team makes a move for the 22-year-old defender in January.
Tottenham didn’t break the bank in the summer but need to bring in a few fresh faces in January. Spurs are fourth in the Premier League standings and have seen Juan Foyth perform well in recent games.
Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld are the other central defenders in the team, but we can also do with more quality in the side.
