Paris Saint-Germain will rival Real Madrid with a bid for Tottenham star Christian Eriksen, according to the Express.

The report claims that Madrid see the 26-year-old as a replacement for Luka Modric while PSG were linked with a move for the Dane in the summer window.

Eriksen has only recovered from an abdominal problem in recent weeks and has slowly been reintegrated into the Tottenham side.

The former Ajax star did play for the national side during the international break and seems to have come out unscathed.

Eriksen hasn’t penned a new deal at Spurs and only has 18 months left on his current contract (h/t Express. The 26-year-old earns £70,000-a-week (h/t Express) and wants parity with some of the top earners in the side.

Dele Alli and Harry Kane signed extensions at Spurs recently and Eriksen needs to do the same as he is one of the most gifted players we have in the Premier League.

The report adds that the Dane is unhappy with some of the positions he has played under Mauricio Pochettino this season.

Eriksen hasn’t done as well as many would have expected this season with one goal and three assists in all competitions for Spurs.

We would like to see more of the Dane, and with him coming back to fitness, he should get more starts under the manager.

Tottenham should avoid selling Eriksen at all costs and tie him down to a new deal as soon as possible. Our next game is against Chelsea and the 26-year-old might have a telling contribution in the tie.
