Tottenham have joined the race to sign highly-rated West Ham youngster Declan Rice, according to the Sun.
The 19-year-old is having an excellent season for the Hammers and already has 11 appearances for the London club across all competitions.
Rice can play as a defensive midfielder or as a centre-back, and the report adds that Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in the services of the youngster.
The youngster makes around £3,000-a-week, and the report claims Rice would be out of a contract in 2020.
It will be interesting to see how the trio of clubs deal with the player running out of a contract. The midfielder would be free to move to another club once his contract ends, however, there could be a bidding war which would help West Ham get a better value for their star.
The report adds that the Hammers want to extend the stay of the youngster but no formal negations have taken place in months, despite talks between the two sides.
The Hammers are willing to pay the youngster £15,000-a-week in his new deal, as per the report, and it will be important to see how things face between the two parties in the coming days.
Tottenham could do with another quality signing and if we can sign him on the cheap, it would certainly be a coup from Daniel Levy.
Spurs were the only club not to sign a player in the summer window but that cannot be the case in the upcoming months if we want the side to grow.
