Tottenham are leading the race to sign Norwegian youngster Sander Berge and could make their move in the winter window, according to Teamtalk (h/t Mirror).

The Genk midfielder has already played 20 times for the Norway senior side, and the report claims he is valued by the Belgian club at £20million.

Tottenham do have several midfield options in the current side but the report adds Mousa Dembele or Victor Wanyama could leave the side after interest from China and Italy, respectively.

Berge has been tracked by Tottenham since he was 16, as per the report, and there are a number of clubs interested in the midfielder.

Premier League sides Arsenal, West Ham United and Everton are keeping an eye on the talented youngster.

Mauricio Pochettino has worked wonders with several young players during his time at Southampton and is doing something similar at Tottenham.

We have seen the rise of Dele Alli, Harry Winks and Harry Kane previously, and this season, the story has been about Juan Foyth.

The Argentine has been one of the stars in recent months, and if Berge wants to continue his development and grow, Tottenham will be the ideal club.

Spurs could do with some young blood in the midfield as Dembele is already 31 and Moussa Sissoko is close to 30.
