Former Tottenham Hotspur star Micky Hazard has told Toby Alderweireld to remain at the club and not join Manchester United.
The Belgian was linked with a move to Old Trafford in the summer (h/t Express) but stuck with the north London-based side. His form has been excellent for Mauricio Pochettino’s team as we sit eight points behind Manchester City after 14 Premier League games.
Spurs are also ahead of Manchester United in the table, and Hazard told the Express that it would be foolish of Alderweireld to switch clubs.
“I think Toby’s a brilliant player and he loves Tottenham.
“If he were to leave Tottenham and join Manchester United with the way the two sides are playing at the moment, at this moment in time – and how they have been for the last few years – then he’d be a fool.”
The Belgian has been brilliant at the back for us this season even without Jan Vertonghen next to him. Injuries have meant that he has had to partner Davinson Sanchez or Juan Foyth and not put a foot wrong.
We are in a much better position compared to the Red Devils who sit in seventh place, seven points behind a top-four spot.

Tottenham have a great manager and the team seems to be on the up while United aren’t performing all that well under the tutelage of Jose Mourinho.
