Tottenham came up with the goods as we qualified for the Champions League knockout round. Lucas Moura scored a late equalizer against Barcelona to help us get through to the Round of 16 and there was cause for celebration all around.
However, some fans seem to have been dealt with harshly by the Barcelona stewards. A video uploaded on Twitter highlighted how some fans were battered by batons.
I just need to address this issue which happened last night during the game. Absolutely disgusting behavior by Barcelona stewards hitting us with batons for no reason! @SpursOfficial please send this to @UEFA @ChampionsLeague its disgusting. RT to find these scumbags! #THFC #COYS pic.twitter.com/JYk5N3u7fw

It is unclear how the situation escalated but the fans seemed to be peaceful before the blows started to rain on them. The Twitter user wanted Tottenham and UEFA to take note of the incident and later claimed that the problems started with some of the seats in the stadium.
We were not in our correct seats that were on our ticket but everyone was in a seat and we were minding our own business watching the game and they just kept on moaning and moaning. We didn’t want any trouble! They wanted trouble from the start. Just let us watch game in peace.

Hopefully, there will be a proper investigation as it puts the lives of fans at risk.
Tottenham did get the result they wanted from the tie but there shouldn’t be any sort of violence, especially not against travelling fans who have come from far to support the team.

Our next Champions League tie is in the middle of February as the knockout stages begin, and hopefully, we will not see similar incidents taking place.
