Tottenham star Harry Kane was unhappy at the manner in which the team ended their 2018 with a loss against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Spurs were in great form coming into the game after resounding wins over Everton and Bournemouth and took the lead via a fantastic Kane strike.
However, Wolves fought back and scored three goals in the second half. The loss meant Liverpool extended their lead at the top to nine points after they beat Arsenal.
Kane was speaking to beIN Sport (h/t Evening Standard) and claimed that the team has to win such games:
“These are games were are expected to win and should be winning.
“It’s a shame that we couldn’t win today.”
The England captain blamed the team for not doing well and believed the Wolves put us under a lot of pressure. Kane also lamented that the team were poor in possession and gave the ball away too many times.
The striker has been fantastic for us and England this year, and was awarded an MBE in the New Year Honours list, and wanted to return to winning ways soon.
“It’s a shame to finish the year how we have because it’s been a good year for club and country. This one hurts but we have to go into the new year and try to get back to winnings ways.”
Our next game is against Cardiff City away, and the Bluebirds will be flying after their surprise win over Leicester City on Saturday.
Tottenham have to get back to winning ways, and we could see a battering of the Bluebirds on Tuesday.
